Bluetooth 6.0 Release Date

The Release Date of Bluetooth 6.0

Before discussing Bluetooth 6.0 release date, let’s take a look at the launch dates of previous versions to figure out which one was the most recent.

Bluetooth 1.0 appeared in 1998 and had a lot of claims, both from companies and from users. But there’s no point in going back that far. Let’s look at the dates since version 5.0.

  • Bluetooth 5.0 release date – July 2016. Compared to the previous version, the transmission speed has increased by 2 times (up to 2 Mbps), while power consumption, on the contrary, has decreased. Bluetooth range: 200 meters outdoors and 40 meters indoors.
  • Bluetooth 5.1 release date – January 21, 2019. What’s new: Added the possibility to find the location of the devices it is connected to. The direction where the signal comes from can also be found. Bluetooth range: 200 meters outdoors and 40 meters indoors.
  • Bluetooth 5.2 release date – January 2020. The level of Bluetooth optimization has been greatly improved. The range has increased, and the latency between the sound and what is happening on the screen, on the contrary, has decreased.
  • Bluetooth 5.3 release date – July 2021. The update is very pleased with 4x the range and 8x the amount of data that can be transferred without latency and false starts, and a twofold increase in speed. Refined channel selection algorithms improve the quality of the audio stream. Support for the ANT+ interface has also appeared here, which is extremely important for people with some serious diseases that require constant monitoring of their condition with the help of devices. First, this applies to heart monitors, glucometers, and, finally to heart rate monitors. Their power consumption is reduced; the device goes from standby to active mode faster than Bluetooth 5.2. OFFICIAL SPEC

We see that in 2021 the latest version of Bluetooth 5.3 was released and that in 2022 there were no version updates. Therefore, it’s too soon to talk about Bluetooth 6, because the next version will be Bluetooth 5.4. We have an article about the new version of Bluetooth 5.4.

As for Bluetooth 6.0, it is likely that the development of a new specification is already underway, but there is no information on it yet.

Important Notice: The estimated release date is based on the release schedules of previous models and should not be considered official. I want to remind you that the actual release date may vary due to a variety of factors, including production delays, changes in company policy, or external economic conditions. I strive to keep the information as current as possible, but for the most accurate and reliable updates, I recommend checking the official Bluetooth website.
