Features Face to Face

Let’s look at what the sound quality, design and build, battery capabilities, connectivity and other features bring our decision to.

Sound Quality

The PartyBox 710 has great sound quality, whereas the PartyBox 1000 possesses an outstanding one, delivering every beat of the music. Both have a wide frequency response range. So, what’s the main difference between these two speakers?

  • Firstly, the PartyBox 710 output power is 800 watts, which contains a pair of frontward firing 2.75″ tweeter (2 x 70 mm) drivers and a pair of frontward 8” woofer drivers (2 x 216 mm). You won’t find a subwoofer in this version. As for the PartyBox 1000, its output is 1100 watts of superpower! It’s made up of one compression tweeter driver, a pair of frontward firing 7” woofer drivers, and one big downward firing 12” subwoofer! Even having more power, it doesn’t distort sound at its max volume. Try it out and let us know how much power it has at max capacity. P.S. be cautious if you have neighbors, they might call the police.

  • Secondly, the PartyBox 710 is clear and crisp in sounding at its highs as it has great frequency response; however, this speaker is not as loud as its big brother. Eventually, it perfectly fits concert events, house and club parties, and fitness centers. With the PartyBox 1000, apart from an extra loudness, you’ll get the Bass Boost feature on the control panel to add some power to the instruments and adjust them for your needs, as a speaker doesn’t have a graphic equalizer (EQ). It has certain audio adjustments for live karaoke and performance to put on an echo, more bass, and more volume.

Verdict
The PartyBox 1000 is a hundred percent cool and beast speaker if you compare it with the PartyBox 710. It has excellent sound delivery and output together with more functions to add and adjust audio effects.

Design and Build

The JBL PartyBox 710 weighs 27.8 kg and has fewer dimensions being a more portable speaker than the JBL PartyBox 1000 with 34.7 kg mass and taller in height.

Both have concealed wheels and a carrying handle, yet it’s telescopic for the latest version and a built-in for the predecessor. You should decide what’s more comfortable for you.  Nevertheless, they both allow you to drag speakers to the destined point or change a spot within the room. Furthermore, these devices have a rubberized bottom, making it easy to keep them in a horizontal position.

The PartyBox 710 is water-resistant with IPx4 protection, meaning an IP rating repels splashes of water, but it doesn’t guarantee its durability in case of submersion. In comparison, the PartyBox 1000 is neither water-resistant nor dust-proof.

As for the lightning mode, both speakers have LED strips and other lights that follow the edges of the drivers creating a circular shape behind the metal grill. The light show can be changed to your preferences.

Moreover, the PartyBox 1000 speaker goes with an Air Gesture Wristband with BLE technology to control the light show by just wearing a bracelet. So, the only thing you need to do is to flip your wrist and change the entire light show at the party.

In our opinion, the significant difference is hidden in their stability. We checked it by trying to push and shake them. This example showed us that the PartyBox 710 is super stable, so you don’t have to worry about its steadiness. Whereas the PartyBox 1000 didn’t show a good result, being not capable enough to withstand the side move.

Both speakers tie in design and build.

Additional Features

The JBL PartyBox 1000 has a fun option as a DJ touchpad that gives you an opportunity to try playing guitar, drums, and keyboard, record and keep loops for more convenient playback.

However, the JBL PartyBox 710 does not possess a DJ touchpad feature, giving a win to its latest version.

Battery Capability

Neither the JBL PartyBox 1000 nor the JBL PartyBox 710 have a built-in battery, so you can only use them being connected to the power source. However, our reviews didn’t show any occasion, where these monsters are utilized without a power source. This feature basically makes them not portable speakers.

Connectivity

It’s simple to pair them up. This can be done through a Bluetooth connection or an aux-port, which are all located on the back of the speakers. What’s more, the PartyBox 1000 has a 4.2 Bluetooth version, whereas the PartyBox 710 gets an upgraded 5.1.

They also have a port to connect a guitar, two microphone ports with their volume controls, allowing one to use a gadget with headphones, a USB charging port for external devices, and two inputs to link the PartyBox 710 and 1000 with other speakers.

While plugging a mic/guitar into the PartyBox 710, the user gets the possibility to use a Karaoke control on the top of the speaker, plus adding some noise with the three buttons at the same location.

The PartyBox 1000 has a base stand on the top for a tablet or a smartphone, which is way more comfortable than just keeping it somewhere.

The huge difference between these speakers is in their ability to support the Party Box App. The big brother doesn’t have it, whereas the PartyBox 710 is compatible with it. So, the application gives a control same as on the top of the speaker: light show, colors, music choice, and other settings.

The speakers tie into this category.

Which Is Better?

The JBL PartyBox 710 vs 1000 showed their strengths and weaknesses. We assume they are exceptional speakers, which produce fascinating sound experiences. However, they significantly differ in prices, which is approximately $500 more for the PartyBox 1000. Apart from the purchase, the JBL 1000 has better bass output, a powerful subwoofer, and a DJ touchpad. Meanwhile, the JBL 710 is IPx4 splash-proof and suitable for beach parties if you bring a generator as a power source. It also supports the Party Box App.

The speakers are great for indoor parties, concerts, and workouts even in small spaces. They both have impressive features and abilities. Everything relies on your budget and needs. If customization of some features, rich sound stage and additional options like a DJ pad cover your requirements, purchase $500 more and get the PartyBox 1000. Yet if you want to use it next to water sources (beach, pool), then we recommend buying the PartyBox 710 as it is a splash-proof Bluetooth speaker.
