Sonos fans are highly wondering what the Sonos Arc 2 release date will be and what upgrades the company will offer in the new soundbar. We haven’t seen Arc updates since 2020.

What’s the Release Date of the Sonos Arc 2?
Now let’s talk about whether we’ll see the new Sonos Arc 2 soundbar anytime soon.
The company has not made any official announcements since the release of the new Sonos Sub Mini and Sonos Ray models in 2022. We did not find any leaks on the network. Therefore, we will go the other way and take a look at the history of the release date of some Sonos products. This will give us an understanding of when we can roughly expect a new model.

We can see that 3 years have passed between the release of Beam Gen 1 and Gen 2. And between the release of Sub Gen 1 and Gen 2, a long 7 years passed, but Sub Gen 3 came out after 4 years.
We know that the Sonos Arc soundbar became available on July 10, 2020, for $799 US / €899 EUR.
On average, Sonos updates products every 3-4 years. The release date for Sonos Arc 2 is probably summer or fall 2024. Sonos may miss another year, but that seems unlikely if it wants to keep up with the rest of the soundbar industry.

Why Is There a Shortage of Sonos?

Will a More Affordable Sonos Arc SL Gen 2 Be Released?
It’s also worth mentioning about the cheaper version of the Sonos Arc SL, which was released exclusively to Costco in the US and Canada in 2020. The more affordable version of the Arc SL did not have a microphone for voice control.
An upgrade to this model is unlikely any time soon, given that the company recently updated its previously released products to include Sonos Voice control. Perhaps Arc SL will be updated to 2nd generation later, but this will happen after the start of sales of the main Arc Gen 2 product.

The Price of Sonos Arc Gen 2
The price of the Arc Gen 1 soundbar at the beginning of sales was $799. It is worth considering that Sonos was forced to raise the prices of its products in 2021, due to the transfer of production from China and the problem with the supply chain. Therefore, the price of the new Sonos Arc Gen 2 model will be higher, presumably $849 – $899 at the beginning.
